    Hi guys,

Does anyone out there want to help me find some collection locatons for species of tarantula in Costa rica. Im going in two weeks, but back for the lectures. Particularly looking for the Bracypelma and ?.mesomelas (lets not even call this Brachypelma mesomelas pls.). I have all the Valerio references and am going to the type localities, but i would like to find individuals from wider across species ranges if possible. (just so i can make sure there are no (ahem) subspecies .......)

Also, for those who dont know me, i have all relavent collecting permits and (expensive!) CITES permits will be applied for in due course.

Ray: Im going to be spending a week in Santa Rosa, any tips for good places to go, as i think you may have been there.

          Hello Stuart,

in this thread there are some locations of Aphonopelma seemanni mentioned:

A trip to Costa Rica where they have found Megaphobema mesomelas:

There are some more articles about costarican theraphosids besides the ones of VALERIO. For example:

PS.: Alex Hooijer might help too – he had been several times in Costa Rica and found Megaphobema mesomelas, Sphaerobothria hoffmanni, etc.

This website contains a lot of photos of spiders, especially of tarantulas.
