wow he is lovely... My male hasn't quite got the red/orange armpits but he has every colour going under his chin. And back feet that look way to big for his body!

Anyhow just had to give #8 a helping hand, the hole it had pierced wasn't very big and too many times have i waited and waited for it to come out and it ended up dying in the fluid.
I find that if after 2 hours after piercing the shell if the lizard hasn't got as far as getting its head out then it's a weak one (or lazy!)

So for the first time I decided i wasn't going to wait and wonder whether to help or not. Gently pulled back the shell, teased the little baby out and put it in a tub... where it promptly tried to make a run for it so i know it's going to be fine.

Personally I would rather have a live lizard than a failed hatchling.

So 8 babies it is. YAY!

And here's #8 just before i helped it out.... 100% cute factor!

Reasonably well for now , I'm sure she will put her foot down eventually but me being ever the devil am always encouraging him in his new found hobby and always will be even when my mum says enough ( I will jokingly tell him too get a divorce or feed her to the pigs then he can fill the whole house with them. ) Before anyone says differently YES I DO LOVE MY MUM!!!

            Even more babies!!!!!

Just an update . So far we have had another 5 hatch from the second clutch with just one fatality. The first clutch of hatchlings are doing really well apart from one which died but the rest are getting bigger and with our trained eyes we can spot potential males already!
