  • Nhandu chromatus rehousing

Recently purchased this from Peter Roach, it was one of the first tarantula I wanted but I'm rather glad it wasnt my first purchase. The strike pose from a little T like this would definitely have turned me off but in reality I think she's all bark!
"fangs aint what they used to be"
Decided to call her Nan, after the mother-in-law

She seemed to want to get back into her old tub

Then she seemed not to be too impressed

So I took a closer look, eeek!

    Ah, she didn't mean it

      those are some brilliant pics.

Reminds me of rehousing mine recently.

I moved it into a tall container but at the same time I was worrried that if it climbed to the top and fell, it would most likely die.

So what happens the next day? I see it hanging at the very top of the container...

So I go and carefully scoop it from below.

What happens? She goes scrambling all over at lighning speed, up out the tank and half way down the side.

Guess that showed me who was going to fall down or not.

Am really grateful she did stop where she stopped though lol.

Was able to scoop her up from there.

This species is entertaining for sure, like with any species, when they are in a new home they will be most skittish. I think she has settled in now.
