Abstract: Acanthoscurria turumban sp. nov. (Araneae: Theraphosidae) is described based on a male from State Bolivar, Venezuela. The new species resembles Acanthoscurria antillensis Pocock, 1903 and A. maga Simon, 1892 but can be distinguished by morphology of the male palpal organ and tibia I apophysis. The genus is recorded for the first time for Venezuela.
