Thought I'd try something different with the lid. There is a smaller hinged section that allows me to top up the water and feed the T. Or I can open up the larger section for tank maintenance. Going to introduce 'Frank' tomorrow!

Another good design Chris, quite like the idea of the triple hinged lid for varying access.

If you'll take some constructive critisism?..... you could triple the depth of the substrate at least, this will enable the spider to burrow at leisure (giving a more natural environment) and have less chance of injury from possibly falling when climbing.

Thanks for the constructive comment Colin - always welcome. I agree - I will add some more substrate to the enclosure. I'll sink the 'hide' more in to the substrate too so that the T can dig it out to the depth it wants. He was a bit of a bulldozer for the first few days when I put him in the last enclosure.

From the examples we have here, they range from JCB's to just standing on the substrate after putting down a little web...

Lets hope yours makes full use of his new, smart looking enclosure ... it's great when you see a tank thats just like you have dug up a square foot of earth from a spiders natural habitat.
You'll have to update this thread with a few pictures after he's been in a while.

Hi Andrew, I have made a few enclosure now:

              1. 5mm clear acrylic - purchased from ebay sellers, or direct from supplier who also sells on ebay.
              2. Acrylic bonding solvent - ebay
              3. Vents - initially I made my own but purchased these from USA - I wil be selling some in the classifieds soon if you are interested.
              4. Acrylic hinges and hasps - Alternative Plastics and Hindleys
              5. Also used syringe needle to apply the solvent

Hope this helps - PM me if you want more specific help.

Thank you for the information. It's greatly received.

I had previously ordered through House of Spiders, but I tend to have a problem with condensation, and would like to get some nice meshed air vents to reduce that. I've found some on a website in the UK, but they aren't cheap.

I may have a go at making my own, too.

                    Hey Chris,

You've been busy! Love the enclosure.

Right, that's all the motivation I need, I am clearing this weekend's schedule and I'm building my new enclosure!

Looking forward to seeing the new enclosure Jamie.
I purchased some great aluminium vents from the US. I think they look good on the enclosure above. I bought more than I needed as the shipping costs were relatively high so I am trying to sell some now. Put an add on rfuk and will put one on here too.
Planning to build a few more enclosure sometime. Will definitely need a big one for my L para as it's going to outgrow it's current one eventually. Plus there are at least four more Ts i would like in the collection. May need a bigger spare room though!
Best of luck with the new enclosure.
