hi colin,thankyou for moving my post lol,had no idea where to put it lol,well as it happens i have got another tarantula lined upjust waiting for my new viv to be deliverd,im gunna get a red knee next i think lol,is that a good choice for a beginer like myself?its quite funny really i used to be scared of spiders but since ive had my T'S the fear has gone love my 2 T'S to bits so so friendlyand so so interesting to watch,my little dwarf flame loves being handled every time i open the cage up shes straight on to my handaltho having said that so is my rose hair iam so so carefull when they are in my hands as i know they are very fragile!actually can i ask a quick question,ive changed my substrate a day ago and the humidity has shot rite up,will this harm my babys?only the girl in the pet shop said it would eventually dry out......

Hi Luke, welcome to the forum. Just to answer your question regarding substrate, Chiles and Brachys, esp. Red Knee, don't like wet substrate, so you might find that they will spend time on the side of the tank until it dries, but always make sure a dish of clean water is always available. Beware, they're very addictive collecting T's lol.

Hi Luke, the Red Knee is the perfect choice, they are a stunning looking T, especially after a moult, they're robust and, if you're lucky enough to get a female, fairly easy to breed and can live for up to 25 years, and now as they are banned from collection in the wild, they're getting more expensive.

ah thats all good lol,im definatly going to go with the red knee just waiting for a new viv to be deliverd lol so hopefully i will be the proud owner of a beautifull red kneei will try and post some pictures of my T's up shortly lol.how soon would you reccomend moving up to a more aggressive t?thankyou for all of your help linda
