  • Pictures from the Hakansson collection in Lund, Sweden

Hi, my name is Sven-Olof and I live in Sweden. I’m a little over 40 and have restarted my tarantula collection now that the kids are bigger and I have got a little spot in our basement to keep them in. (The spiders – not the kids)

I have bought a nice little camera to take familypictures and sometimes one or two pictures of the tarantulas. If you ask my wife it’s far to many.……..

    First some Avicularia

    Avicularia braunshauseni sling

    Avicularia braunshauseni female

Avicularia braunshauseni female with some company

Avicularia huriana, a really old female.

    Avicularia laeta

    Avicularia metallica

Same Avicularia metallica with a friend over for dinner…..

    Avicularia minatrix sling

    Avicularia minatrix female

Avicularia minatrix female taking a chricket through the tube. Two seconds later she pulled it in and the monent was over.

    Avicularia purpurea sling

    Avicularia purpurea female

    Avicularia versicolor

    To be continued…….

        Avicularia purpurea adult male

        Psalmopoeus cambridgei

Psalmopoeus irminia. This must be a really old lady. She is missing her tigerpattern on the abdomen.

        Psalmopoeus pulcher

        Iridopelma hirsutum Sling/juvenil

        Tapinauchenius purpureus juvenil

        More will follow…………

That for me is a stuning animal. I don't think that I have ever seen one that has lost its chevron markings on the abdomen like that. I have seen them quite dark but not to the extent that they have in effect gone! a really nice photo and spider thanks for posting it up.

This is an old favorit. Sha has been with me for a few years now. I think she was about 6-7 mm then I got her. Grammostola Rosea

This is the spider that I’m most proud to own. Xenesthis Immansis:
