I gave the house spider a daddy long legs last night(Cranefly-Tipula paludosa), and it was bigger thsan the spider, but it pounced on it! Compared to a T its a ferocious little beastie!
My Chile Rose on the other hand just sits there, ignoring the crickets!

i'am going to try and get my hands on a house spider did have loads around but now that i'am looking there is not any there.
I have even keep the window in the bathroom open, in the hope that one might go into the bath.
Should be quite and intresting spide to keep, when i find one.

Daniel,do you have a shed? I found mine there(its full of spiders!)

Also we are approaching the time when youre more likey to see a house spider, as the males come out around autumn time looking for a mate-if you see a big house spider in your plug hole or running across the living room carpet it's probably a male, which are much bigger in the leg department than the females!

I'd get a female, I believe they live longer.
Also mating may not be straight forward as the females of spiders often eat the males after mating. Plus I'm not sure they would mate in captivity, one might just attack the other who is invading the others territory!

O.k, well i managed to catch a male i think last night but he/she is missing a leg. But it is drinking and has eaten a moth.
                    So all is good.

                    Very quick feeder!!!
