I'm going to try to get more pix up so I guess a thread of all of them would be nice. I'm expecting our new camera soon so I'll be snap happy then but I'll also try to get some enclosure pix for people to check out.

Here's my Avicularia metallica - "slippers" she loves her webbing which is quite tubular and she has a bamboo tube to hide in. Most of the time she's on display at the top or within her web. Here's pix I took before putting her in the sweet jar.

And continuing with the metals, he're's my Acanthogonatus pissii, my only myglamorph. The photo's don't do the metallic hairs justice but hopefully I'll get better ones soon.

thanks Patsy, technically its a myglamorph rather than a tarantula but a beautiful and hungry specimen, a 45th Bday pressie, woo-hoo.

Here's my last rehousing from BTS, Pterinochilus murinus RCF, not hard to see why as I have no intention of rehousing again. I have more pix but lets see what haps in the matter of a week - she(?)s already started webbing. I really thought rehousing her would be a nightmare and as I've seen how fast these could move we took plenty of precautions incl tea towels, cricket tubs and meat cleaver at the ready (jk!). After listening to plenty of advice I decided to go ahead and it was one of the slowest rehousing ive had!!! no darting, no aggresiveness, we had to try really had to coax her. We had intended to call her Boadicea but there was none of the spirit I'd been led to believe, docile as a Chili!!!! So, we decided to call her tango!

            thats right,

I saw a juvenile at the expo, had only ever seen them in pictures and I was tempted to get one too cause their colour is fantastic but I had my heart set on a bohemi already and am still very happy about my choice.

I'm sure I will get one next year

Good thing you had no problems housing it, my bohemi on the other hand decided to run half way across my bed, was prepared so all good and I like a T with a bit of skittishness, as long as its not too fast or aggressive

Peter mate, whatever you do dont fall into the trap of thinking its docile. I have 3 Pterinochilus including this one, sp and Lugardi. All are really beautiful but never go near it without said meat cleaver in hand. My Lugardi is timid and asleep in a plantpot most of the time but theres no end of times I come in the lounge on a night and its attacking the side of the enclosure when you walk past it.

I would put them in cobalt blue territory as far as speed and aggression are concerned. A local shop owner near me had one of these Murinus delivered and it was as calm as anything one minute and out of the tank weilding fangs on his arm the next. Quick couple of bites later it ran off under some shelving and the guys bowel all but emptied. Im still not sure if he ever caught the little bugger.

They are stunning however and I really like all mine, they havent yet managed a bite but vigilance is never allowed to stray with them.

                Thanks Dave
She's more often than not hidden away under her log but I keep catching her having a roam at night (the benefit of coming home at silly hours in the morning). Took some pix last nt so I'll try to get them uploaded soon, and finish my rufilata community experience.
But for now here's some lovely pix of my A. versicolor slings.
