    My blog.

Thank you, Marc and welcome to the world of tarantulas. I will be updating my blog regularly. But these last few days I've been very busy preparing for exhibitions and talks at various colleges and high schools to get college going students to be interested in keeping tarantulas as pets. Just came back from a very successful one. Will be holding a big exhibition for the public this 31st ( it's our National Day ) and we expect about 10,000 visitors.

I do not know what's available at your place but do try to get some of the more docile ones first. Beginners normally go for colour and size. Your dealer will be able to advice you on this.

Will be updating my blog tomorrow.

BTW, here's one Rose Hair and one Red Knee for you.

    By for now.

      Liphitius desultor

Today we are going to open the 'door' of the Liphistius desultor.

Photo 1 shows the actual trapdoor as it is in the wild.

Photo 2 shows yours truly opening the 'door' very slowly and carefully.

      Photo 3. OPEN SESAME!!!
Finally the door is open. The burrow is about 20 inches deep and
it is covered with a very fine layer of web. It is very smooth.

      Bye for now.

again beautiful and instructive pics thank you!
i love the Chilobrachys sp "Penang"'s...really wish i'd managed to get one!
i will keep my eye open though...
and those shots of the Liphistius burrow are great...amazing camouflage!
