Turkey has a new species of tarantula spider!
Chaetopelma altugkadirorum (pronounced: "alto-kadir-orum") was described in the latest BTS journal. It's surprising that such a large distinctive spider has gone undescribed for so long on the door-step of Europe. Just imagine what other amazing species await description, hidden in some poorly worked part of the globe!
