so im interested in Harpactirinae i had a large collection 2 years ago but i had a clear out to focus on my studies at college, now Uni's coming i want to build my collection up again so i can study this amazing family and have the resources/spiders to do so. things are gonna develop slowly so starting from the ground level. feeder roaches:
on the 8th April i acquired 42 female dubias and the same in males. (not ideal but its paid off) they are kept in a storage tub of egg crates at 90 degrees. although i kept the males seperate untill yesterday originally i was gonna put 14 males in to obtain a 1:3 ratio so i fed off some of the excess to the remaining spiders here.. the females must of been gravid already as nymphs have shown up. ive also just ordered another 100 females and 50 mediums to strenghen the colony and they're coming wednesday. luckily i kept some of the excess males as they are now needed. crickets and maggots are what im using for the spiders at the moment but once the colony is established the roaches will take over from crickets.
next post will be when the dubia arrive (maybe wednesday) or i order some spiders which should be soon.
