B.T.S Classified section - Information and rules
Welcome to the new B.T.S Classified section, this is a subscription based group where your can subscribe to post adverts for a nominal fee, or if you are a professional trader / dealer, you may wish to take on a premium account which you can subscribe to for one year.
There will be two types of subscriptions:
Basic Dealer/Trader
This Paid Subscription gives you the ability to post new threads in the BTS Classifieds forum for a period of 1 month.
Cost per calendar month £5.00
Premium Dealer/Trader
This Paid Subscription gives you the ability to create new threads, post replies to your threads (bumps), edit your posts, and post attachments in your ads in the BTS Classifieds forum for a period of one year. You also get to put a 468 x 60 pixel banner in your signature so that the more you help by answering on the forums, the more exposure your business will get. (Much better bargain than the basic)
Cost per year £50.00
Why are we charging?
The BTS are embarking on a series of projects in the future and funds gathered by these subscriptions will be inpart used to fund such projects and also to help pay for the BTS Website.
How do I sign up?
To subscribe, please click here and select the appropriate subscription. (Please note, to use the previous link, you don't have to have PayPal account, you can pay by credit card just choose the options below the paypal login. A cheque can be sent to head office if you prefere)
Advanced Features will be activated for Premium account holders only.
Basic accounts are only allowed to create new threads.
A full list of rules can be found below. These rules are in place to protect both purchaser and trader alike, and should eventually create the safest place on the net to purchase and trade tarantulas.
Obviously the society would like to see mainly captive bred or long term captives for sale, therefore in keeping with the BTS’s stance on conservation.
Cheaters and scam artists will most likely not be able to get in due to our real name policy and strict moderation of registration. If they do, they will quickly be found out and dealt with accordingly by the administrator or the various moderators of the BTS IT Dept.

B.T.S. Classifieds Rules and Regulations:
- Personal attacks and slanderous comments will not be tolerated, those attempting to do so will be banned from using the BTS Classified section. Subject to appeal and after discussion at committee level could result in any or all of the following:
- Your subscription to the classifieds will be cancelled without a refund.
- Your B.T.S. membership being revoked.
- Your being banned from all BTS organised events, such as the Exhibition, Lectures and Dinner.
- All users who wish to post adverts here must have a complete profile and be using their full name or registered trading name. If in doubt contact the administrator.
- Strictly invertebrates’ only – The selling of reptiles, amphibians or any other vertebrates will not be tolerated and will lead to the suspension of your account status, with no refund of your subscription.
- Dealers /Traders using this forum are in no way connected with the BTS. We do not endorse any of the traders that use this section. All deals are between the customers and the sellers and remain solely between them.
- You must complete all transactions within a respectable time frame. Delays and other problems during transactions must be made known to the buyer promptly.
- The purchaser must fully understand the seller’s policies on ‘Dead on Arrivals' (DOA’s). The BTS will not replace or refund any such transaction mishap and this should be resolved with the trader or dealer. Posting stock during cold weather is often at your own risk. If in doubt, ask before purchasing.
- The UK has a Dangerous Wild Animals act. Although we do not restrict the sale of these species, you must abide by these rules. Failure to do so will result in the suspension of your account status, with no refund of your subscription.
- By subscribing and using this new section you are agreeing to abide by these rules and regulations.
