  • new to this, advice please

I have recently got a Mexican Red-kneed Tarantula spiderling. It is about 2cm in size.

Would a clear pot measuring 2.5" by 2.5" be too big for it?
I've got some micro crickets for it, how many crickets should i feed it? and how often?
I've been told to put the micro crickets in the pot with it for only a hour each time, because it can be dangerous if the Tarantula is molting, is this correct?

What else can i feed it?

Any other information would be greatful.

I've read different things and its not easy to know whats best.

any advice would be great, thanks

No that size pot will not be to big for it at all if anything it might be a little small. You can leave the crickets in there longer than an hour, your know if it is going to moult as it will go off its food. You say your red knee is 2cm in size do you mean total size or legspan? As a basic rule dont offer it food that is bigger than its caraprice / head bit. I have found however that my red kness of about the same size will take hatchling grasshoppers / locusts with out any trouble.

Ahhh in that case keep it on the micro crickets for a while longer but be warned it will want to eat alot and almost constently.
