lol how true!Originally posted by Mark Pajak View PostOk this is slightly on a tangent but..... for the last six months at work I have been sitting next to the most orthodox spider hater I have ever met and I can honestly say that I am developing... an irrational fear of Spider haters
Aracnophobia-phobia
Oh dear, I think its consuming my life. Even with one in the room I am immediately uncomfortable, I mean - they are so unpredictable. Just the slightest spiderish reference sends them running around, arms and legs flayling uncontrollably. Its terrifying!
actually, i live with two housemates, and they're both fine. one of them, in fact, was telling me his theory that 8 out of 10 people are scared of spiders...but he reckons it's not REAL fear... he thinks left to their own devices, not being "told" that spiders are "scary" their whole lives, we might not have nearly as many arachnophobes as we do.
i agree...spiders are a bit unnerving, definitely, if you suddenly see one, but society's collective fear is cyclic and i don't think it would be such a problem if people thought objectively for a second, "what has a spider ever done to me?"
people who overcome that fear to look after T's, or in fact people who confront ANY fear, are to be congratulated and respected!
society and the way it seems to program people has alot to answer for...
that's just my view though...Last edited by James Box; 27-09-07, 11:15 AM.Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

well for being scared of spiders, you do remarkably well! i still think the best way to beat a fear is to face it, and what better way than keeping T's!Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Well, when it comes to cleaning, I can get remains and bolus out with 12inch tweezers, feeding I can do with no real problems, unless the spid is in a shallow box and near to my fingers,(remember Tiny Becky??), escaped slings yes I can deal with, but if a big one gets out I have to wait for Trev, my son to deal with it, also if they need a deep clean, and packing for posting, thats a job for Trev to catch them too.Originally posted by jonshepherd View PostWhat about when it comes to cleaning / feeding and / or an escape?spider woman at Wilkinsons
