Silk Foliage

I recently set up my P.Regalis tank with some Fake Vine.I went straight ahead and placed the foliage in the tank and the T loves it. My only concern is should i have sterilized it first?Also how do I sterilize a silky/plastic foliage?
I thought about Milton fluid but am not sure as it's a highly diluted bleach(although it is used for babies).
I would appreciate any advice.
