Yes, Ray!
Thus You have a deal with Russia, Ray.
It is unique country for many-many reasons and sometimes totally not siutable for life.. but I love it, since so I was raised here from the childhood.
And as russians said: All is good if finished good...
Yes Mikhail, Russia is wonderful, rich in history and character. I play chess - say no more. I visited Moscow, Leningrad (as was) Kiev, Yalta and Tbilisi in 1990 and it was fantastic.
Red Square is the ONLY place in the world that made me cry when I saw it. I wanted to go there since I was a child. Nothing else mattered.
This is very surprising me! thanks for such impressive words about Russia!
I live now in Leningrad (Saint-Petersburg, as nowadays) and most of my previouse life in Moscow. I also lived about a year in Tbilissi (at Soviet Union times - my grand-grand parents are come from Greece after Turkish expansion and lived in Caucasus mountain)!
So You at least was at 3 states in Russia where I live.
It is really as You said reach and great country also by the many talented people, but it is not easier to live here, believe me!
It is the typical country where the "money wins ALL! "...
Only several last years some more wider possibilities are given to "ordinary" people like me, that I, for example, starts to think about buying a new car... and this is not to mention that my fee as lawyer here are more than average in this country...
And the only one thing is always upset me - no any species of theraphosidae in Russia! and even ex-USSR!
If You would plan to go here again would be nice to meet and see You!
BTW. Boris Striffler was there at the Archnological conference several years ago too, but that time I don't know about it
Mikhail,
I really loved Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and visited the ship Aurora. I stayed in a big hotel near there, but cannot remember the name of it. Also I visited Various Palaces. It was very cold and the people there treated me very well even though food was very scare.
If I ever go back - and I would love to take my wife Susan, it would be fantastic to see you.
Carl
Why? It is a lot of european-class restraunts in SpB... strange...
They definately not cheap for local people but I believe not very expensive for Europeans...
If I ever go back - and I would love to take my wife Susan, it would be fantastic to see you.
You're welcome!
As well as other t' people I know!
It is also possible to reduce expences by staying in my house instead of paying for a hotel, but this is only if You do not afraid of dog, cats, birds, etc. and surely some ammount of big hairy spiders and two terroristic, but my lovest little kids
Jan
Not a football fan, but I supposed that You mean Gus Hiddink, Netherlandian?
