  • B smithi maturing size

    Hi,

My SA female B smithi has just moulted. I'm not sure exactly how old she is.

What is generally the size that they will become mature? Eventually I want to breed her, but don't want to try and do it before she is big enough. I think it'll be getting to that time, but want to make sure before I try and get a male for her.

The moult she has just done is 5.5cm leg span. Is she now big enough to be considered adult?

    I'd appreciate any advice,
    Thanks

    Hiya Catherine
Your smithi sounds like its still a juvenile. Females of this species typically reach around 5-6" (14-15cm)LS I think. So your spider prob has another couple of years before reaching adult size.
