I just got this email:

A few months back I posted a statement that as of April 1st 2007 that the Admin staff of the board would be removing names of those people who have not requested to update their username to a real name.


So with this in mind, I will be giving one month's grace. Users who have not joined the campaign on our forum will be removed. 1st May 2007

So how do I change to my name in full to Larry Shone? I really dont mind to be honest as there have been a few Trolls posting on other sites just to wind people up,so I'm up for it.

Well i don't see where i can change my user name,i went into User CP>Edit Profile but there was no option to change it.

As a user of a real name you will not be deleted. I am fully aware of the those who like to read and seldom post, with over 1500 hits per day on the forum I do relise we have a lot of people who enjoy reading and looking at images.

Note: As clearly stated by Mark Pennell at the top of the forum page, the end of May [right about now!] was the deadline for having your username changed to your actual full name (e.g., Michael Jacobi). First name AND surname - no initials (except for middle), abbreviations or aliases. Since this deadline ended up falling at a time when Mark is off to the jungle to faff about , I'd like to take some of his workload of his shoulders by making some of these changes for you. You can email your current username and the appropriate full name - as per the Campaign for Real Forum Names rules - to me at michael.jacobi@thebts.co.uk or exoticfauna@gmail.com. I will make the change for you. If you have already emailed Mark and he hadn't found the time to make the change, feel free to email your request to me. I will take care of it at my earliest convenience.

Please be advised that people who don't comply with this regulation and those who have not posted in a long time and presumably won't even see this, will be deleted in the very near future and will have to re-register as per the forum rules.

sorry if I come across as being an idiot.
Do i have to get rid of my middle initial and just be known as Colin Wilson or is the "D" acceptable as you state that no initials are allowed.

Sorry if I was confusing - I have edited my post... the initials I was referring to are what Mark mentioned in his alert at the top of the page. In other words, Michael J. and M. Jacobi are not acceptable. It has to be the full name (Michael Jacobi). A middle initial (Michael A. Jacobi) is just fine.

And only admins can change or alter usernames. It isn't a user-defined function.

Several years late, I finally spot this - yes I am just a bit slow!

Hmm - it passed me by totally, but my account seems to work as it is. Happy to be known as Eleanor Jones if anyone wants to change it for me!!!
