  • Hiding Red Rump

Hi all I have had Red Rump sling for about 3 months now, it was in a small pot but it has out grown that now so I transfered it to a bigger tank. I have put in some bark for it to hide under etc. But it now has dug itself under the bark and blocked both ends with web and substraight, so now when I put the crickets in to feed it there is no way it can get to them they just run arround on the outside?? Is this normal??

    Many thanks

    Nick

It could be coming up to a moult, and not want to be disturbed. If the crickets aren't eaten without 24 hours, i'd remove them and offer again a week later.

Just make sure he has water, and he'll be fine.
And he piled upon the whale's white hump, the sum of all the rage and hate felt by his whole race. If his chest had been a cannon, he would have shot his heart upon it.

Thanks for the reply he moulted a couple of weeks ago, the water is also on the outside of his hiding place so he cannot get to that either??

He will be able to tear down and rebuild his web to get in and out without any trouble at all so there is no need to worry.

So you think it is a case of he will come out when he is hungry?

          Thanks for the replies!

My very quick and nasty Orange Baboon built what looked like a real solid, thickly spun, totally closed in funnel of web...It looked an 'inch' thick...and tough as old boots

Until i got a bit too close with the tweezers..

It burst thru that lot quicker than i could react....Well, I did react and it involved a change of underwear...

              Then it just re-built it...
