  • My daughter found a long legged spider!

This chap was in the parents house yesterday. My daughter Katie, aged 2, loves spiders and can spot one a mile off! I lifted her up so she could reach it, and having knocked it down she then picked it up and had it crawling all over her!
She isnt scared a bit, just like me as a kid!
Anyway, here is the 8 legged beastie. He seems to have very long front legs for a Tegenaria, and the legs are striped.
Will have to have a look through my book to see if I can ID him.

Also I found this interesting moth the other night(She likes those too, but my other half hates them!)

The spider is probably an adult male N. umbratica.

Thanks Guy, but what genus does the 'N' refer to?

Im going with Guy's suggestion, and narrowed it down to Nuctenea umbratica

Also the moth is Small Magpie moth, or Eurrhypara hortulata
