    because me and me mate have held a Goliath birdeater with no ill effects
    also have pics of us holding one, it goes against every thing i have read
    aggressive don't handle keep away....

    that's not very wise but if you like to itch... you'r welcome. It's actually more dangerous for the spider than for you.
    To continue this thread, it's also possible to hold a P. regalis, but again it's not wise... you choose, this is your spider and your hand.

      My veiw on this is you are just plain daft to do it, carry on if you want a bite or a dead spider or both. TARANTULAS ARE NOT TOYS.

        hey shaun i guess its a no to hold the bird eater eh , beauty comes with a price in this case its been tagged , maybe more research is needed in tarantula physiology but for now we best heed the advice the experts who knows maybe the bird eater and i could become friends can tigers become pets if reared from cubs lol

          All of spiders, i never handle i just think it is just much kinder to leave them in there tank, the only time when i do handle them is when cleaning them out about once a year.
