Generally its common practice to find out the habitat and the style of set up before even thinking of getting an kind of tarantula. get as much knowledge available know it inside out before even buying a tarantula.
Try arachnoboards.com they are bound to have a picture set up of Avics.

There's a picture of an arboreal spiderling set up on the following website,
In cricket tubs on there sides.

This is the best way for a sling setup that needs hight. I personally use plastic deli cups for my arboreal slings But cricket tubs are good.

In general I have found A, versicolor pretty easy to bring on. Often these will die if inadequate ventilation is used.

House in tall clear pot 60mm x 100mm with several ventilation holes at the top. Fill with at least 35mm of good sterile substrate add a small piece of cork bark and your spider should thrive keep the substrate damp but not wet.

Keep a good eye out for mites and if spotted remove the spider and clean out the tub.
            Re-house as the spider grows.

Best luck with this gorgeous species
            Regards
            Mark

You can totally dry out the enclosure and they will die, but your best bet with an avic I would suggest is to either temporarily rehouse it and clean it's enclosure out before putting it back, or otherwise totally rehouse it into a new mite free enclosure
