  • white mites

I have been the proud owner of just a couple T's for several years now and have recently added to my collection several spiderlings, I have never had a case of mites but since making up new set-ups have noticed tiny white mites in water dishes, they have probably come from new substrate, what can i do to get rid of them as worried about spiderlings? or are they ok i'm sure at the last lectures i remember Richard Gallon saying he leaves mites as they act as cleaners but then these may not be the same type? Have been looking closely and none seem to actually be on T's...if i do have to get rid of them is there anything i can do with subtrate so i don't just have to loose it all (cooking etc)...

hi, i have had most of my t,s for years and never had this problem. what i would do is remove the spidey(check closely on the spidey for mites)....then would nuke the substrate in the microwave for ten minutes...this should kill anything in the substrate. hope this helps.... steve.
