I got a mexican red knee spiderling today she is about half cm long I have read up alot about looking after her and read the online blog on this forum, but I am always up for learning more though so if anyone has any tips or info id like to know please tell me.

But apart from that I have a question, what should I feed her because she is so small she cant eat live crickets can she??? and I dont want to leave it long before I offer her food

Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. Congrats on the new sling Simon. If you have problems finding pinhead crickets you can always feed it a dead adult cricket. Slings are opportunistic feeders at that size so it should find the dead cricket without any problems. Just remember to remove what's leftover within 24 hrs to prevent molding.

Your sling needs to be kept on dry substrate and at that size the sling will get all of it's water requirements from the prey item.

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask.

take a nip down to your local fishing shop and buy some pinky maggots. Not only are they cheap but you also get way more than you need, and they will last a good time in the fridge. I bet if you are lucky also that the bloke in the shop will let you have a few for free if you explain what they are for and say you don't need too many (works for me )!

I find that 99% of my spiderlings will eat these as soon as they are offered.

BTW stay clear of the dyed maggots though as they could be harmful! (something to do with the dye).
