Idea for the BTS

Hey all,

I thought of an idea which I have seen on other websites...

A map showing where other BTS members are in the world which i think would be beneficial to everyone especially for people who require help and would like to speak to someone nearby! May also help arrange events and where to host them...

I have seen one on FON (a WiFi community) before, they used Google Maps and everybody could place a 'pinpush' thing on the map showing where they are!

The BTS has a very widespread membership and this is one will are extremally proud of. I will speak to Angela Hale as I know she has already been working out percentages and locations of our membership.

As far as I remember Angela had Friendship scheme going on that allowed members to get in contact with others in the same area presumming that people want to have details given.

Hi ,
we did try to run a Friendship scheme but we ran into a few problems.

It was very sucessful but when members left the club or moved house they didnt tell us. This led to a few problems and a few complaints when someone rang them at a late hour.

We also found that running the Society and the Freindship scheme was too much for us. We have given some thought to an internet scheme where our members can register on our Members site and swap e-mail addresses.

This is where Mark comes in . He has the skill to set it up on the site. I will discuss it with him next time we speak.
