Well not quite, but I feel like it. My first tarantula arrived today and its a beauty. I had its tank all set up and and popped him/her (not sure yet) in. Its been clinging to the sides ever since, i think I made the substrate a little too damp. Any tips on how to dry it out a little?

what Tarantula is it??The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

or you could try using a hair dryer, those work preatty well for that type of thing too.Reptile Rescue Hull Volunteer,

Thanks for the help, I'll try drying it out tomorrow morning see if it makes my T happier. Its not too bad, comes off the glass for a walk now and then, and it came down no problem at all when I fed it so maybe its not too bad, could just use a little drying out. The combination of the damp soil and heat pad are making it a little too humid too so it should help with that.
Its a G. rosea, and so far I'm loving it. I imagine it'll take me a while to get over feeling guilty feeding it. Sending hte poor wee crickets to their death...

Hey Michael.
Here's a tip that you might find useful for getting over the guilt. Release a handful of crickets behind your 'fridge - after a few days of constant 'chirruping' you will have gotten over the anxiety!
Lol!
Actually, I had forgotten how much I like having crickets in the house, but it sends some people crazy!Lasiodora parahybana

That made me laugh. We seem to have a resident Cricket behind the fridge also. I think it escaped from the Chemeleons Vivarium!
Glad everyone else has the same problem!!

The loudest they get is when the oven has been on and the kitchen is really hot cos its a tiny kitchen it sets them off like nothing as the kitchen is generally very cold. Seems to be a high tone echo from behind the fridge cos I knew a few had escaped but they were all relativly small unless they are thriving downstairs and getting bigger. My gf is worried that when we get back from xmas they will have bred and be chirping in every nook and cranny. I giggle a little when i see her bemused face when she's trying to cook.
