Hello to you all.
I am new to this forum, but not to T fever.....
I have tried to scour the threads here for the possible suggestions to my questions, but cannot see anything that covers.
Up until earlier this year I had kept terrestrial
species. I then purchased a beautiful A.avicularia adult and a P.regalis sling along with some more terrestrials.
I have read articles and books over the years about care and I was hoping to clarify some of the finer points……
I was watching Pinkie (original??
) earlier and noticed that s/he was perched on the glass at the top of his/her home. S/he was facing downwards (which I am aware is apparently how most arboreal species prefer to stay).
However on this occasion, s/he was on tip-toes holding his/her abdomen at a 90 degree angle, pointing away from the glass. S/he stayed like this for a few hours. No food was being digested; no excreta or silk being produced either. Just seemed a strange position to assume as s/he usually lies flush to the glass/cork.
Has anyone else seen similar in their T’s????
Also, my P.regalis (2.5 cm sling) has a lovely arboreal cereal jar set up: Vermiculite and 15 cm of cork to use. However s/he spends 99% of the time at the point where the cork is buried in the substrate, squeezing in the gap. S/he has been in this set up for over a month and does not appear to have produced any silk or attempted to make a retreat in any of the suitable crags in the cork further up the house. S/he appears fine and well, taking crickets like there’s no tomorrow!
Any suggestions from anyone please
?????
I look forward to any replies received.
Mike
