Few changes - gallery etc.

Hi All
Just a quick note, you may/will experiance problems accessing the forum, while I configue the new BTS Gallery. This new feature will allow the BTS to update and keep up to date the Theraphosidae Gallery which currently resides in the shadows on the main park of the site.

"Will I be able to post images" I here you ask out loud! well yes and no. You will if you are part of the BTS Member usergroup. This is currently set up and will run along side your BTS membership.

As part of this group you will have a members gallery to post images too. This will only be visable to registered members of the forum.

Anyway hopefully all the changes and problems will go un noticed.

Now back to work for me...

hi Mark,

I'm having a bit of trouble. Every time I try to look at the new members pictures I'm prompted to log in (even though I already am). When I've logged in I get taken back to the same page that says I'm viewing the gallery as a guest and it prompts me to log in again?

Hi Michael
OK you need to clear your cookies re visit the site and this will re set the cookies.

The new gallery is actually running seperate from the forum, but is using the same registration and user details etc.

To get this to work properly I have had to change the cookie paths in the forum. So you are most likley still using the old ones.

If you still have problems let me know.

Testing is still ongoing, and the intergration is still being improved.

However its all working for me with no kick outs so I am sure the cookies are the problem for you.

OK just tested it on the works PC and it kicked me out when trying look at the gallery. I cleared the cookies - re logged in and it now works fine.

So 99.99999999999999999999 % sure this is your problem.

Cookies are the problem, you're quite right.

Bout time i put my MCSE into good use here eh...if anyone (who's computer wary) has problems with viewing the gallery then follow the instructions below

Click on "TOOLS" on the tool bar at the top of you browser (internet explorer users)
Click "INTERNET OPTIONS" from the drop down menu
Click "DELETE COOKIES" on the pop up window that appears
Click "OK" on the smaller window that appears
Click "OK" to exit the first, larger pop up window.
Exit Internet explorer, re open Internet Explorer and log back into the BTS as usual.

Hopefully by this weekend - BTS members will be able to join the BTS member group which has gallery posting privileges granted.

I have a few things to sort out, like space limits per member and a new set of rules and regs.

OK right the cookie problem has been fully address, and you do need to clear all BTS set cookies to get seamless login privileges’.

Colin has covered - Internet Explorer, however for those who use Netscape or firefox.

Tools Menu: Manage Cookies, now you can choose to select just BTS cookies and delete then keeping other cookies set, thus stopping you having to re log in to every forum you’re a member of.

Or delete ALL

BTS website cookies will have the domain
www.thebts.co.uk (old ones)
thebts.co.uk (new ones)
