My spider 'Fast' has been broken! Lol!

Well I have managed this last few weeks to stop myself buying any more spiders as I have more than enough to keep me going for now...

Until....

thespidershop decided to put some Xenesthis immanis up for sale!! lol

That was the latest arrival yesterday, just got it settled in last night.

I had to have it as I managed to get the Xenesthis intermedia the last time he had them on sale but had just missed out on the immanis and it was on my 'want' list.

I was so excited and then realised that I had missed out on a P, metallica on this same site as posted on another thread!

Oh well, will have to be more vigilant when checking what's being offered!

Still saving for the BTS though - although people will be putting their prices up for this.... captive market and all that!

I lost my adult female X immanis last year , old age i think

She was stunning , very quick for a large spider too !

I only had her for two years because i bought her as an adult for £80 from a shop in Norwich called Rons Reptiles , i couldnt really afford her but she was an amazing looking spider . Thick black velvetty legs , a stunning purple star patterned carapace and she was HUGE !!!

For some stupid reason i never took a picture of her , or the fantastic little white collared T i had too either !!

Ooh definately get some pics up. I had decided to wait till the BTS show but I couldnt hold out any longer and ordered a V. versicolor SA from the spidershop, hopefully it will arrive next Tuesday.

Prices at the BTS Exhibition are either the same or cheaper than on websites (I can't think of an instance where they've been higher).

Reason being that dealers don't have to spend time and money on extra packing and postage. There's also good competition between dealers and this keeps prices for the 'common' species reasonable.

Then of course you get hobbists selling their own captive breedings and spare stock (people who wouldn't normally advertise online because of the hassle of postage).

Best of all you can see before you buy and ask the seller for advice face-to-face.

Some dealers even drop their prices towards the end of the day - and of course you can always haggle for quantity discounts

I should think that unless you buy expensive things like P. metallica, £250 should help you to fill every downstairs room in an average house quite comfortably.
