I always used to use tape to stick my mats on with.

sorry bout the mix up earlier but I found your last post a little tricky to read I will get used to your talking style soon though. but being dyslexic myself I have trouble with things like that at times.

A tip to help you out on this site if you want it, is to use the edit function as it then highlights any errors, I find it most useful and only wish more sites would add them on. Oh I just discovered that the advanced function option allows you to correct before you post so you don't need to edit it afterwards that will save me some time as i used to post it up then reload the page and edit any errors I had made.

The mesh lid will be fine so no worries there, I tend to give my terrestrial spiders about 4 inches of substrate.
Most matings are done privately and not open for viewing though their might be places that do showings.
Your right about the internet it is horrible the amount of mixed information you get on it all you can do is try to find the right stuff but your OK as you found this site.

Out of interest why is the shop near you so bad that you wont buy from them?

      Hi Scott.

I use Velcro to Fix my mats to the side of the tank, then I use polystyrene to back them, this is so all the heat, or most of it doesn’t get lost through the rear of the mat.
I don’t use mats under my vivs because I use a lot of substrate in mine.

      Web Pages for you.

      Hope these are okay Scott

Get yourself a habistat thermostat set it to the temperature mark, leave it on all the time, then just monitor it. you might have to turn it up a bit higher. say you want the tank at a steady 26 c you might have to set it at 30 c You can get them from the spider shop. Lee will keep you right. They cost about £28. My tanks are all next to each other along the bench.
They never bother realy unless you put them in the same tank then your the referee lol.

                    Hi Scott

Welcome to the forum, you will get all the help you need here. Colin is right the people on the gaming forum are just ignorant not worth worrying over. Don't worry about being dyslexic, my son has also had this, it just means you learn in a different way to other people. I'm sure you will be fine.

Glad you have a G.rosea they are wonderful creatures I adore mine. As regards reading there are a number of good web sites to get information but if you want books, then I have four to recommend

The Tarantula Keeper's Guide -Stanley Schults and Marguerite Schults
Tarantulas and Other Arachnids - Samuel Marshall
                    Tarantulas - Jerry G. walls
Tarantula Care - Dr. Robert G Breene

                    Good Luck

                    Barbara

you want the hide to be a bit bigger than the spider so he's got a bit of room to move around a little, as far as the temp, it seems ok and if he gets too hot or too cold he'll just move so he's more comfortable.

Sometimes T's dont take prey thats too small, you'll have to see how it goes.
i'd buy some more of the right size, keep the others in a tub and feed them up a bit, they'll soon grow into a size thats acceptable to the T.
