  • Acanthoscuria chacoana

At the show yesterday I bought a A chacoana. However looking over the net I can't seem to find any info on it, just a couple of pictures.

Do anyone have any info on this rather nice looking T?

    Heres mine.

Which leads me to another point, how about we compile some caresheets for various T's for the website? I know some sites have the more comman T caresheets, but it seems more fitting for the BTS to have some??

    Just an idea.

I would imagine as the Chacoana (primarily Argentina Paraguay etc) and the Geniculata (primarily Brazil) have overlapping distribution areas, you would be able to keep both species in a similar fashion, there's copious amount of info on the Geni.
From a bit of research it seems that the main differences regarding the spiders physically are colouration, and variations in spermathecal and palpal bulb morphology, general environmental conditions remain similar.

good idea kain, i am having the same problem with my Euathlus Vulpinus. Would be handy for new and old members to put together care sheets.

Since so my site is back again, hope this helps too: http://tarantulas.tropica.ru/en/evol...Acanthoscurria
If You really wonder what is the difference - no difference in keeping conditions for many and many and many and many species... But it is another issue...
If You want the current data for A. chacoana You should mind that it has two differnet "races" (geographical) Brazilian and "nominal"... look for the detailes on the link.
        All the best,
        Mikhail from Russia

            ello kain,
I keep my chacoana on DRY sub & i mist her once a week. when she sheds you will see a big difference in her colour as her legs will be grey silver and she will be really fluffy. You cannot hold these as they will kick there hairs at you for nothing and will quite easily bite. they grow quite big as well but will not burrow, they like a log to hide under and will dig a little hole under it. temp should be about 25 degs with low humidity.
