Thanks Colin! Though a bit worried he would think it was great if I took the pictures down!! On a different note, what other T would you recommend would be good to start with. I have a B. Smithi at the moment ( who is gorgeous!!- everyone seems to think I have a problem because I think he is beautiful but at least I know when here I am in with similar thinking people!!). I know a Chile Rose is meant to be good to start with also as quite docile but I know one that bit someone so that kind of put me off a bit!! Thank you!!

I think Really any of the Grammostolas are good to start off with as, in general, they're all pretty much of a docile nature and a little more forgiving if the environments "not quite right" as they're a hardy species too.
The brachy's (smithi, emilia etc etc) are equally good to start off with for mainly the same reasons.
On the point of a rosea biting someone, all spiders have the capability of biting (even your smithi), it's a defence mechanism in it's simplest terms.
There's instances where people have had a spider for 15 odd years, handled it safely everyday (although most members here adopt a no handling policy, except where absolutely neccessary) and one day it turns and latches on.
They're unpredictable, but don't let that put you off buying another, the more nervous the species, the more care and attention you take when attending to them.

Hi! Thanks for all your suggestions. I have written them all down to go and check them out! My suggestion of getting another one has not been met with great enthusiasm by the hubby and in laws/parents! Oh well!!
And you are right Scott - everyone here is great and very very helpful! Thank you very very much!

Nicola, you're right....
I always seem to not mention Avic's, i have two and they're among my "favourites" of the T's i keep. I suppose because the arboreals are considered by most to be the "next step on" for keeping T's i omit them from my list of starters yet they're just as easy to keep.
