Richard, this must be a word out of the Tarantual keepers thesaurus.

Docile: (adjective) related words: unpredictable, unhandleable, fast as.....(no can't put that)

      E. vulpinus

Oh so you've noticed that as well then?? Seriously I have managed to quieten my E. vulpinus down now but only after some advice from the spidershop. These spiders are great with a water bowl but try misting the container and its 'hanging from the ceiling' time. Mine used to run up this peice of cork bark and sit there half the day, wondering where the rest of the monsoon was. Now I keep her dry with a water bowl and food and she's fine sitting on her pile of dry moss. Soppy spider!!!

I had a pair of E truculentus and they were harmless little spiders. As I say each spider can be entirely different to one another

most of my animals are meant to be docile! and i can completely agree with the "thesauraus" entry!

at the least, they're fast, or prone to pinch (the scorps) or kick hairs (the curly hair, who is a moody little girl!) lol
i'm quite surprised at the Emperor scorpions...they might be considered docile compared to other breeds, but they're certainly not docile in their own right!
my curly hair seems to not ever want to move once she's sat down. if she thinks i'm going to try anything, she gets her leg up ready to kick. if she can be bothered, that is. sometimes she just can't. lazy.

i can also vouch for the different personalities...the two chile roses, for example, couldn't be more opposite in demeanor! one hides in the "tree stump," one makes the whole tank his/her home and sits outside confidently. he/she also likes to walk around at a decent clip...not breakneck speed like my old C Darlingis, but faster then, say, the curly hair.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
