    Hi!
I'm thinking of getting one of these beauties soon so I need all the information I can get. Where they are native? Also in which climate they live in. Information about native environment will be appreciated because one day I plan to set up a natural looking terrarium. Temperament? What size can they reach? Anything else I need to know so I can make my new T happy.
    Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum Igor. The spider you want used to be called Pamphobeteus platyomma, try looking under that name. Good luck.

Yes, I know that... I was reading about the confusion in this genus, thinking: P platyomma - V platyomma - V wacketi - etc. But even if I know that, I have difficulties to find some really good info on this. Anywhere I have look is only the basics. So I hope somebody here is going to give some info or at least to point on the best info on the www.
Ps: sorry but my english isn't the best.

There's still a lot of speculation regarding the naming of this sp, but none the less, the Platyomma will not grow as big as many of the other Pampho sp', an adult can be expected to reach around 5-6", they come from Brazil & are terrestrial, they also need a log for a hide. Humidity is around the 70% mark & temp around 80'.
They are not the friendliest spider as they are terrible at kicking hairs & will also BITE without provocation! If yours is female it wont be as pretty as a mature male as the males develope a beautiful metalic pink.
