well they dont like bold bottoms and skinny or broken legs. nice fat and healthy T's but one of my friends on ap said it was down to the judges faveorite spider.

To put the records straight; as one of the judges I can categorically confrm that it was most definitely NOT down to the judges favourite spider. As one of the judges I can also say that I don't actually have a "favourite" spider and it is always a joint decision made by Andrew Smith, Paul Carpenter and myself. It is, in most cases, not even a unanimous decision and there have been numerous occasions when, behind closed doors, heated debate has taken place between the three of us as to which particular specimen should win any given category.

As you know this award is based on a published article or someone referred to us that has bred something rare in the hobby, like say sp gandalfs bridge a worlds first for this species. Yes I know I did not get it it but we have a none in house policy as far as I am concerned apparently.



We did think of yet again passing this prestigious award on to Ray Gabriel but to be honest we are sick of giving it to Ray he has a room full and won't appreciate another...


So it will be differed yet again to the May show, where of course I won't win it again for the second breeding of this super rare species. Perhaps this time when I sell them and not give them away to breeders around the globe I'll get the trophy
