  • Advice Needed

One of my T.apophysis slings got a leg stuck in it's last moult a few weeks ago. It is acting perfectly normally, walking, feeding without trouble, but I'm worried it's not going to be able to get out of it's next moult. should I cut or pull the leg off or just leave it to get on with it?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm no expert in this but i would be tempted to try and wet the exuvium to soften it up and after a few hours of it being softened try grabbing it lightly with a pair of tweezers and letting the spider try to pull it's leg free, you should be able to guage how much pressure it's using and if it's going to be successful or not.

I'll leave it up to you to try this as it's just an idea...

What I would do is raise the humidy slightly and wait and see. the spider will know its there and wil, once it regains its strength, get on with pushing it off.

I dont think you have too much to worry about. Tarantulas are resilienet creatures.

Try not to worry too much
