  • Breeding Question

We got a male A.geniculata at the show and put him in a tank next to our female, with the tanks touching, and for about a week they would drum loudly to eachother every evening. We then mated them and ever since, we haven't heard any drumming. We see the male sometimes tap a leg on the glass as he walks around the side of his tank, but the female never responds. The tanks are in exactly the same position as they were before. The male also built another sperm web last week.

My question is, is it worth trying to mate them again, or do all these signs point to a succesful mating in the first place?

Chances are the female isn't giving out the right signals now she's mated. In most cases, one successful pairing is sufficient for an eggsac so maybe it's better to pass the male onto the next person rather than risk another mating.
