  • Electric mum

Does anybody have any ideas/experiance of what kind of electric motor i could use on an incubator to turn an egg sac, i have thought about one of those plug in timers etc-but am at a loss as to what kind of motor would turn slowly enough.Thanx guys.

the hour hand of a clock turns quite slowly or you could with a series of gear coggs reduce a fast (you can get different speed ones) running motor that is used in modeling.

But what I find best is that if you leave the eggsac with the mum she will do all the work for you so a construction like this would not be needed.

    have fun with it though

Hmmm yeah that clock thing has got my mind going. It's the P.mettalica chris and with our kids the house is anything but quiet, dont really want to risk it. i know what you mean though it is nice to let mum do the work.A couple of weeks yet to decide anyway.Thanx for your feedback chris.

You dont need to turn the eggsac, at 14 days they should be N1 so can be removed from the eggsac.

I have reared up pokes from day 9 while they were still eggs.

          Hi Alex!

As Ray said eggs don't need to be turned. Just if they're in eggsac. Just pour out eggas into simple incubator and check for humidity regularly.
          All the best,
