      Hi Steevens!

Did all those abdomen (photo) taken of the adult speciemens and if so (or even not so) does they all from the same sex - females?
As we know, in some of the poesci's the abdominal patters depends on does it female or a male and in adult males it is different at most of the species.

Thanks in further for answer and sure for Your great work with this!!!
      All the best,
      Mikhail from Russia

        That a good question.
I forget to specify that the are all females, cause I would do the same thing with males, later, and I would have specify that they are males at this time..

            Tarantula abdomens

            Hi Steevens/Mikhail,
I wonder if you could possibly help me out with something. I've just looked at my P. subfusca's abdomen and compared it with the paintings here and it appears to be the opposite in colour. The spider has a very dark abdomen and the 'diamond' pattern is very light as opposed to being dark here. Does this mean I have a male or just an immature tarantula. The spider has a 12.5cm legspan, myself I think it is a male. Can you help please? (picture below)

              he...
I believe the above collages by Steevens are made not for the color comparison, but for patterns...
And regarding the subfusca colors now don't start that again, please!
Whatever it is mature or immature I'm not sure this type of the sexual id is available for P. subfusca at all as well as I'm not sure it is 99.9% prove for P. ornata too.
              All the best,
              Mikhail from Russia

                Absolutly correct.
                My subfusca is not mature
