  • Packing Up a Pokie...

Hey folks, hope you are well.

Got back from hospital yesterday and now have to post my male P pederseni in the hope of a successful mating, all going well I should have a few slings in 2-3 months...

Anyway now I have to capture the 6"+ leggy male and pack appropriately to ship to E Sussex...

Anyone have any tips for coercing this horny T into a padded container?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
All those legs and not a pair of shoes in sight... Nice tarsus tho...

I have just placed a quick guide to post and packing tarantulas you can download it here. It works for even the agressive species... as you don't have to have contact with them.

Its work fine for me for over 20 years.

click here to download This is the new download section (work in progress)

    Regards
    Mark

Thanks Mark, so the T is sent still enclosed in the poly bag then yes?

Also if I have no heating pads to send with the T is there another method I can use to ensure the T is adequately heated in transit?

I seen an article you did in the Glasgow Metro paper some time ago, nice read by the way!

      Thanks again for the info!

Yes the polybag subdues and restricts movement thus ensuring no leg damage. Do not use heat pads unless cold weather, it is generally safe to post April to September without heat.

Where posible you should try to hand deliver tarantulas.

        Cheers
