I would give the Avic sp (probably Guyana) at least around 10 cm deep substrate, this way when it is wet the humidity stays high. I would also give the spider a good temperature drop at night, this also increases the humidity.

At present no one knows if they have A. avicularia or not

I like that tank Dave, you have it looking really nice too.

The Avics are lovely, by far my favourite genus even if it is screwed up. I got an A. sp. "guyana" the other day and find her to be really docile.
