  • Finally! The molt!

    Hello!

At 9:25 Helsinki time (7:25 Uk time), I saw that my A. Genic had constructed a silken hammock during the night and is now looking comfortable for the on coming molt, I'm not entirely sure but it looks like there is a cold six pack underneath the hammock ready for after.
I hope everything goes well. I'd love to post some pictures but I really don't want to disturb the process at all, It looks like there may be some webbing attached to the lid so even more reason to not meddle.
I'll be sure to post some photo's afterward when all is well.
The current body lenght is around 3 cm, bit of a long shot but would anyone know roughly how long they lay on their backs before they start to push out of the old suit? I'm on the edge of my seat!

    Best Regards

    Hi Tomas
Hopefully you wont have too long to wait

Slings dont take as long as adults but your A. genic might lie on his/her back for a few hours before moulting or may start moulting quite quickly. You never can tell.

    Good luck
    Elaine

      Strike A Light!

      Thanks Elaine,

Well, that didnt take long, all appears dandio, the process took around 25 minutes and quite frankly I'm astonished at the increase in size. I'll post accurate measurements as soon as I can. It's unbelievable! The only thig I can't confirm is the complete detachment of the opisthosma. It all seems good but I can't really see just yet. Wow! I had a little spider and now I have a much much bigger spider!

      All the best

          Amazing isn't it Tomas,
Wait a few days for it to harden up and settle down and then you'll see the final result.
