  • A question on water

    Figured this would be the best place to ask, what kind of water does everyone use for their T's? I'm currently using bottled mineral water since I know it doesn't have the high chlorine content of tap. But what effects if any will a T suffer from using tap water?

    Ps. I still don't know whats wrong but this bunch of coding keeps popping up on my posts.
    .wysiwyg { background-attachment: fixed; background-repeat: repeat-x; background-position: 50% 50%; background-color: #ffffff; background-image: url("http://thebts.co.uk/forums/images/replyboxbg.gif"); color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Arial; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: 50% 50% } p { margin: 0px; }

    hi rich!
    I use tap water for my two Ts , I dont think there is any problems with this, I have read that others mist with mineral water, but thats mainly to stop the messy streaking that tap water tends to leave on the sides of a glass or plastic tanks

    As for your wierd coding, have you put a picture/writing or anything in your signatures section of your profile? if so, it could be having trouble displaying it...only a thought?

      Water

      Hi Rich,

      What I've read on the forum so far and what the more experienced members use, is the method of distillation.
      Boil the tap water first and then allow to cool down.
      This is good for misting tanks too, so far I've had no stains or unsightly marks on the glass. The other plus side is inexpense compared to mineral water.

      Best Regards

      Tomas

        i've recently switched to cricket water for the waterdish, as it supposedly limits the chances of bacterial or mould infection, and probably doesn't stagnate as quickly as normal water, though i could be wrong.
        anyways, the animals seem to love it.
        i just use tap water for spraying, but of course the streaky problem may cause me to boil it first.
