This is a request for help from a TV project I am working on for National Geographic.
The lurid pictures (usually of L. reclusa) spider bites are all over the internet and are inappropriate for the documentary that we are making on Theraphosa.
We are looking to illustrate that the bite from even a large theraphosid, while painful (believe me, I know!) it is highly unikely to be serious and almost certainly not fatal.
Does anyone have pictures of the effect of a tarantula bite (preferably on the hand or arm) that can be used in the programme?
If anyone can help, please let me know - I'll send you a release form and you will get a credit on the show!
