  • P. striata and P irminia spiderlings

well i've had my wee ones for just over a week now, and they're doing pretty well so far. managed to get them eating some very small crickets, and they're voracious! of course, the crickets are a right pain to get out, and i've lost more than a few already
but i'm quite proud of the way the slings are putting on weight.

anyone know how fast these species grow? i'd love to know when i can expect to be past the tricky spiderling stage...

i aquired many Poecilotheria slings back in january, i fed them loads, my fasciata is now an adult male and is going for breeding, my pederseni is now an adult female and has a male with her i would say about 8 mounths if you feed them loads

they're doing great, from what i can tell. getting pretty fat!
hope they're conveniently gendered so i can breed them

I brought my irminia on Christmas day 2006, they had a 1cm legspan.
Now they have about a 12-14 cm legspan.

just came home to find one of the irminia's dead...hope i don't lose anymore!!!
no clear cause of death, as usual...tried to keep humidity up, tried to give some ventilation...had food and warmth
i found mold in its paper towel the other day and immediately cleaned it out thoroughly, but maybe too late!!!

i've only been here a few years, so still learning the lingo lol

still pretty gutted, but all the others are still ok, so hope things stay that way!

they came in small tubs with kitchen roll to hide in and for humidity. but i should've changed it as soon as i got home. a few weeks went by, and some mold started growing
they're all on vermiculite now, so hopefully the others will be ok.

James, James, that was only for transportation, if I had thought you were gonna keep them on it I would have said to put substrate in, oh god, I blame myself. Gimme your addy and I will replace it......
