  • B.emilia Mating

We mated our Brachypalme emilias this evening. The male is very skittish whereas the female is very calm and docile, and the male was running around not knowing where to go, until he walked up to the female and touched her leg. She immediately turned to face him and seemed rather aggressive. He got her hooked up in a rather haphazard fashion and almost pushed her up the side of the tank. I saw him tickling her undercarriage and he seemed to get insertions. She got free of his hooks and came down and still seemed quite aggressive towards him, but he was not discouraged and hooked her up again. When he was finished we separated them with tongs and got him out quickly.
