  • A. versicolor

Just wondering if this is normal. I have had an A. versicolor sling (2cm-ish) for about a month, when I got it, it was metalic blue like I have seen in many pictures. It shed about 4 days after recieving it and was then grey with brown hairs(not many though) now its she again, seems to have less hairs and is still grey and brown. Haven't seen any pictures of a versi looking like this anywhere. Am I doing something wrong or do they all go this colour?

With versicolours people always mention the two stages, metallic blue spiderling and adult colours. However during late spiderling and juvenile stage mine also went through a coal-grey phase with abdominal markings similar to Avic minatrix in red and dark grey. From here he matured into adult colours after a while. Hope this helps.

Here's my lil versi in between juvi and adult colors. He has a pattern similar to minatrix on his abdomen, dull dark red dusty legs, and a slate colored carcapace.
