  • Spiderling ventilation.....

Having lost a few spiderlings to what I think must be poor ventilation, I have had an idea - would it make enough of a difference to hook up an aquarum air pump + hose into the container.?

I think the amount of air being pumped through would be pretty minimal, but still much more than just diffusion through very small air holes. - Has anyone tried this?

If the container you are using has a plastic lid, try cutting away a large hole and tape some net curtain over it. this is ideal for ventilation and of course the spider cannot escape.

      might try that...
i've taken to removing the lid whenever i can to let the air cycle a bit...of course i'm careful to not let anything out

You can't easily monitor ventilation so what I choose to do is over ventilate (if thats possible) and then monitor the humidity/moisture content.

A ton of air holes combined with a water dish and the odd substrate soaking has worked very well for me so far.
