  • Pterinochilus murinus

    Hi everyone,
I wonder if someone can help me out with a small problem. I have a young adult female P. murinus whom I'd like to breed. She's my favorite tarantula, good natured, a big eater as well (picture below).

Thing is she's not NCF or RCF, she is the UMV variant. I've only seen these for sale once, and that was in the batch Lee from the Spider shop was selling last spring, where she came from. I'd really like to find a male for her, or spiderlings of the variant to grow on if a male is not possible. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

    best wishes,

    Nicola

Hi Mark, I'm not sure as I'm not very experienced. Someone from the BTS committee would know (Richard Gallon is really experienced with African tarantulas). It would be great if he is a male of this variant though. Thanks for your words Paul.

Difficult to say given that different cameras capture colours slightly differently.

Where did you get the male from? This may help.

You could just send the male to the female so the two could be compared side-by-side in the same light conditions.

                Cheers,
                Richard

unfortunately the male was given to me by a pet shop that was closing down (and was labelled p.lugardi) so no help there!
